Walltrax, a proudly South African educational toy
Walltrax is an educational game of skill which develops intellectual and creative abilities in children. As it has become necessary to balance the real world and the world of electronic technology, this toy was created to develop an understanding of these two worlds.
The game was originally designed in 2012 by parents who could not find a toy for their three-year-old son that would keep him occupied for longer than ten minutes. Walltrax extended their son’s playtime by almost two hours. The intricacies of the track designs increase as children grow older. As a result, it is a favourite toy in the house, even on holidays.
A Walltrax set consists of 16 tracks (± 4,2 metres long), four glow-in-the-dark balls and a piece of mounting putty. A track can be built against any vertical surface (walls, doors, cupboards, windows, mirrors, fridges or even caravan surfaces). It is possible to join the tracks together or use them individually. Longer roller coasters can be constructed due to the flexibility of the tracks, which makes many configurations possible, even around corners. Not only can the glow-in-the-dark balls be activated under a bright light, but the tracks can also accommodate the flow of normal glass marbles. Weight and speed will determine if the track design requires adjustment. Manipulation of the tracks is easy: simply remove, change the angle and re-stick.
Walltrax is an exciting, innovative educational toy. It simultaneously develops visual perception, stimulates the development of imagination, creativity, planning, problem-solving, gross and fine motor skills, eye-hand coordination, posture, perceptual development and the integration of left and right brain activities. It also enhances the integration of the physical, emotional, cognitive and social domains in a natural, fun way. This will play an important role in securing a solid foundation for future learning and social interaction.
The older the child, the more creative and advanced the tracks and configurations will become. Walltrax is not a fixed toy; the possibilities are endless the older a child becomes. This is an expandable toy; the more pieces you have, the more you can build and design.
It is also ideal for homeschooling, therapists, teachers, waiting rooms, birthdays and Christmas gifts.
An experience not to be missed!
